Mindfulness is about paying conscious attention to the experiences and thoughts that occur to you here and now. Moving through life with mindfulness, you live more intensely and consciously. Deal better with your thoughts and don't get stuck in unhealthy patterns. Make better choices and react less on the autopilot.

Mindfulness helps you to concentrate, ensures relaxation and gives you more peace of mind. This way stressful situations can be noticed earlier and you get to know and recognize your limits. Create time for yourself and find resilience to live with more acceptance and attention.

The Training

The 8-week MBSR training consists of 8 sessions of 2.5 hours and one full day. It is a practical training in which you learn by doing. Through physical exercises such as yoga and meditation you get to know your body and mind better. Just like learning a new sport or profession, mindfulness also requires practice. During the training you will spend approximately 45 minutes per day on mindfulness in order to optimally experience the effects. Discussing the exercises is an important part of the training. In this way you train your awareness of what is there and valuable insights can arise. Important topics in the training are 'autopilot', 'getting to know boundaries', 'stress' and the integration of the practice into daily life.

The lessons are given in a contemporary, well-founded and accessible manner. I’m a certified category 1 trainer and followed my training at De Mindfulness Academy, the recognized training center in the Netherlands. It is a professional, innovative and open training and expertise center for mindfulness, which aims to contribute to the quality of life and work, upbringing, education and health through the integration of mindfulness in all parts of society.
